Hello, and welcome to GLP-1 Healthy Habits. My name is Chantelle, and this is a space where we can explore how to take control of our health and build habits that truly work for us over the long term.

A little bit about me: I've battled with my weight since I was 10 years old, and along the way, I've seen firsthand with immediate family members just how obesity can affect both our physical and mental wellbeing.

Since 2018, I have been struggling with burnout and suddenly the healthy weight I had managed was no more and I started to gain weight… rapidly. I went on to gain over 50lbs from 2021 to 2024 with my weight peaking at 196lbs (I’m only 5 foot 1!).

No matter what I tried, I could not stop gaining weight and I was worried about the trajectory of my health. In September 2024, I started to look into the use of GLP-1s and am pleased to report that I am currently 19lbs down using Wegovy.

My passion for health promotion comes from my own health experience when I was diagnosed with epilepsy and was found to have gallstones at 19 years old. With the right medication and making significant lifestyle changes, I was able to regain control of my seizures, and (fingers crossed) I’ve been seizure free for several years now. This experience sparked my passion for healthcare and I went on to train as an Occupational Therapist. My love for all things health drives me to help others make choices today that can improve their health for the long run.
